- Criminal history self-review: use the California Department of Justice fingerprint process
- Arrest, booking, and jail records: contact the San Mateo County Sheriff's Criminal Records Bureau
- Court counter: Hall of Justice and Records, 400 County Center, Redwood City, CA 94063
- Police reports and incident records: contact the agency that wrote the report
- Expungement and record sealing: file with the court that heard the case
